Janna Phillips

Janna Phillips is a multidisciplinary artist who creates in ink, paint, and clay. She has her BA in Art Education and Painting & Drawing from Anderson University and a MA in Art Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design. Janna has exhibited her work in shows across the country including but not limited to: New York, South Carolina, and Alabama. She has been awarded at multiple juried shows for her excellence in painting.

Janna strives to create, imagine, and impact. Across all mediums, her approach to art is very detailed and naturalistic. She creates oil paintings inspired by the world around her. In contrast to her paintings, she creates functional pottery using white stoneware and porcelain clay. Art is very therapeutic for Janna. It is a way for her to express, question, and reflect on life and her surroundings.

Along with her career as an artist, Janna has experience as an Art Educator and Administrator. She has served as the Art Teacher for the Montessori School of Mauldin, Director and Teacher with Blank Canvas, Research Assistant for the Spartanburg Art Museum, and as the Arts Education Coordinator for Space One Eleven.

Janna lives in Crestwood North, Birmingham, AL and works out of her detached art studio.
