Sharon Laning is a local artist who has worked in both photography and acrylic paint. Her photography has been exhibited at the Civil Rights Institute in Birmingham. Her work has also been exhibited by the Alabama State Council for the Arts at their gallery in Montgomery, AL. Her paintings are a combination of acrylic paint and colored pencil and pen to create fun images of animals and abstract florals. Sharon’s goal as an artist is to bring bright and colorful images into people’s lives and to share the joy that she feels when she is creating.
